Sony action cam

The extreme sports community has Go Pro.

This one is for the creative
community.

If Go Pro is for the extreme sports audience, what if Sony's new, compact 4k video camera became a tool for the creative community? Collaborating with artists, filmmakers, chefs, animators, dancers, Youtube and social media stars from all over the world, we created over 30 films to show what can be done with a compact camera and a little imagination.

The only rule was that 90% of the footage in each film had to be made with the Sony Action Cam.

Below are some of my favorites from the series.

The picture machine

The Picture Machine is a reverse zoetrope.
The entire machine was an original concept and creation, as was every frame of animation.
The animation you see was not edited or enhance,

TKO

A rhythmic film from a boxer's perspective, set to a track by legendary session drummer Bernard 'Pretty' Purdie.

but exactly what was captured through the Action Cam. This (as we've been told by the most enthusiastic camera nerds) was an amazing feat.

Get Ready

What a morning routine feels like to content creator Andrew Huang.

An Intro to Rigging

The best part about having a tiny camera is that anything can become a camera rig. Even a hamster wheel.

The Room

The Sony Action Cam shoots 4k film, which is a great canvas for animation. Here, 3D artist Ryan Dzierzek imagines what's hidden in an abandoned house.
